I am donating a neon sign which reads Start Again. The sign glows in a bright green, similar to the green of a stoplight. I have been a friend of the Byer family for over 10 years and the love they share has been a big influence on my life. I chose the sign Start Again to show that the Byer family never rests when it comes to fulfilling a passion or supporting a loved one.

Ben Byer has shown us all what courage means. I see that same courage in his family when it comes to shining a bright questioning light on how ALS is treated. Ben never stopped exploring or making humorous observations about his illness and he would want his family and friends to keep fighting against this disease and to keep supporting his wonderful film. Start Again is a green light for all of us to move forward when we can; to keep moving forward in fighting this horrible disease.

I dedicate Start Again to Ben Byer and his amazing strength and willingness to fight against all odds.

Matt Hanner has exhibited his wall paintings, collages, and installations in group and solo exhibitions at the Hyde Park Art Center, Temporary Services, mini-dutch and Deadtech Chicago. Additionally he has had exhibitions in Dallas, Texas, Puerto Rico, and Denmark. He lives in Porter Indiana with his wife Erika, daughter Gigi and their moody cat Angelina.
